Where is Sarah Palin's Diana?

Missing her Mom a terrified 4 year-old enters a house where an armed homeowner encountered serial burglar Diana Palin in the middle of a heist. (Doesn't the Palin family ever notice when someone has a problem?) What a sight that must have been for the police to see a poor child looking for her mother and finding the homeowner Theodore Turcott locked and loaded.

Last April it was news. Now only Sherry Johnston makes the news cycle. What is
happening with Diana Palin?
Allegedly, the child is alright.

Ben Smith of POLITICO wrote about this: The extended Palin clan make Billy Carter and Roger Clinton look like model citizens.A Palin busted for Break and Enter in Wasilla

Diana is the half sister of Todd Mitchell Palin, former shadow governor and Sarah's beloved husband. Aunt Diana is a blood relation (gene pool) to Todd and Sarah's children. Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig. Diana would also be an aunt to Tripp Johnston, Levi's son and Sherry Johnston's grandson. They are all kin.

Todd and Diana's father is James F. "Jim" Palin of Seattle. He is now married to their stepmother, Faye Palin. (right photo)

This is not a small matter, you would think it would be a bigger outrage to take a 4 year-old to a burglary then to sell drugs to high school teens that were dealers turned informants. It is another sad story from the long ongoing Wasilla drug saga or the gorilla in the room no Wasillian wants to notice. It all goes on within a small area of the Mat-su Valley.

Sarah Palin's sister-in-law, Diana Palin, arrested for burglary
Within minutes of the infamous Wasilla Multi-sports complex that Sarah Palin nearly bankrupted a town to build.

WASILLA, Alaska — A Palmer grand jury has indicted Diana Palin on burglary, theft and trespass charges related to three break-ins at a Wasilla home.Palin, 35, is the half-sister of Todd Palin, Gov. Sarah Palin's husband.Jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility since Wasilla police arrested her April 2, Palin pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance in Palmer Superior Court this morning.

Update: COURT RECORD
. There are now 11 charges against her:
4 felonies and 7 misdemeanors
3 reckless endangerment have been added.
Diana Palin's next hearing set 9/3/2009 for a change of plea.

  1. Isn't she being represented by Rex Butler? Can't remember where I read that...maybe at Gryphen's site?

  3. I just looked the case up on court view and it looks like nothing has happened. That is really weird. Rex Butler is not listed as her attorney, but that may just mean he was not her attorney yet when the info was posted. There should have been several hearings by now. They may just have not put them in there on purpose which is not fair to everyone else who have their cases posted and would be an ethics violation for someone. Perhaps she has been sent to treatment which would be a very unusual move for Alaska considering almost everyone in the prison system has a chemical dependency treatment issue and are denied treatment. If her sentencing has been delayed pending treatment that means she has been given special treatment by the judge. I can tell you the courts in this state are corrupt and those who are in opposition to certain politicians and ideologies are treated very harshly. I bet she knows something and has said she will come forth with it unless power is used to get her a light sentence. If she is in treatment that is what should have happened, it just not is what happens to anyone else in Alaska. A nurse in Juneau just got arrested and put in jail for taking one dose of a narcotic. In most states she would be sent to treatment, here she is charged with at least one felony. I am a nurse who took drugs to kill myself. I was charged with 6 felonies due to perjury. I was denied psychiatric treatment for PTSD by the judge. It was made very public, in fact the DA told the newspaper lies to sensationalize the story. I did not have Rex Butler, I had a besotted public defender. It was retaliation for my liberal views about the rights of the native people and the substandard care there. The PTSD was from workplace bullying which is common in health care in rural Alaska. Yes Governor Bribery I told you I would never stop telling this story and I never will.

  4. If you include videos on your site that autoload, as you have here, I won't be back.

  5. I checked the court records and found that her current attorney, Joshua Fannon, was appointed in May. She has a hearing set for 9/3/2009 for change of plea. They also added 3 charges of reckless endangerment.

  6. Yes Diana is being represented by Rex.

She has a serious drug problem and is really quite a tragic figure. I do not know who is caring for the child at this time.

I don't know what the status of her situation is, but I will try to find out.

    Thanks for covering this.

My apology for the autoload video. I wasn't familiar with that and don't know how to change it. It is a nice short video but that music is a bit too much! I removed it and left a link.

I can't find any news follow up for the times that Diana Palin would have a new hearing. The news reports seem to drop off after mid April. I think I recall something about a July court date but nothing after that about any changes. It really is suspicious no one reported when the 3 reckless were added. That must be for what she did to the child. It should have been reported. It is more important to know what is being done for a child than to keep a name out of print. By the looks of it, this does appear to be a case where a lot of back room dealing is going on. With the pattern of corruption in Alaska, I hope more people around the world are taking note. Diana Palin's addiction story and how it effects a child is just as important as Sherry Johnston's.

Sherry Johnston is not getting the same treatment. In court or the media. The stories about her are titled "Levi Johnston baby daddy's mother" or "Levi Johnston's druggie Mom." Very prejudiced language. It makes the Johnstons look worse. The media is doing a pathetic job. I won't expect the Anchorage News Daily to change but it won't hurt to let them know when something smells.

There was a local woman who locked up children in cages. For the children's sake it was a big story. The public needs to know how children are treated. If their perpetrators are given special treatment and backroom deals it only makes it worse for children, all children. How a community treats their vulnerable and their frail says a lot about the people. We also had Catholic churches in the area that went through decades of molestation. No one wants to talk about what happens to children and it keeps happening to more children.

Your perspective is always appreciated. "If her sentencing has been delayed pending treatment." If that happened and it is not in court docs that would be a crime in some places. I left you more comment on another thread, Todd and Sarah Palin's Radical Agenda.

Thanx for the court records. I'm adding an update. Let's see if the news media or more Alaskan bloggers keep the public informed. Or if they are only on the Johnstons.

Thank you! I don't know how you do all you do but so glad you do it.

Diana is a tragic figure. It is sad she has to be in any spotlight, that is already a done deal. Addiction is both a family and society matter. I hope we can learn more about what is going on in the courts. We use to have the best court reporter in our newspaper, she is gone now. It makes such a big difference when a trusted pro is building relationships with authorities and asking the right questions. A local journalist needs to be involved with the courts and prison system. We lost ours and it is already a detriment.
