Perpetually Self-Involved, Politically Abusive Sarah

Gawker dissin' like no other....

If political support were a relationship, Sarah Palin would be a wife beater.

Conservatives rallied around her during last year's presidential election, turning her into a demigod. Despite all the love and attention, Palin continues to let them down.

The Alaska Family Council held an event this evening to bolster support for their latest ballot initiative, which supports a law demanding parents be told if their dirty, sexually active child goes to get an abortion. And, as far as they were concerned, Palin had agreed to headline their event. They were twice told she would attend and were absolutely vibrating with anticipation:

  • We look forward to Governor Palin honoring her commitment to attend, and we appreciate her public support of our effort to pass this important voter initiative to protect the rights of parents and the health of teenage girls.

Sarah Palin is getting the attention she craves. Another "yes she will, no she won't" guessing game.

Christian Science Monitor - Matthew Shaer -
Maybe she’s in Rhode Island. Maybe she’s hanging out with Glenn Beck. Maybe she’s “tasting a nibble of AK’s bounty.” Maybe she’s hiking the Appalachian Trail. Maybe she’s in Kansas with Lynn Jenkins, discussing the GOP’s next “great white hope.”Who knows? At this point, we don’t know where Sarah Palin is.
We only know where Sarah Palin isn't
and that's at Changepoint, an Anchorage megachurch.

Sarah Palin cancels again on a speech she claims she was never invited to

OOPS: Mistakes on political donations blamed on software
Crawford said SarahPAC uses election software, similar to TurboTax for income taxes, that walks aides through required disclosures. When they filed the mid-year report to the FEC, no violations were noted, so they thought they had done it correctly.

The FEC wants more information

Palin: The software made me do it.
We still need to find the reason that Palin so abruptly resigned, late on a Friday, before a holiday weekend, without preparing a well-conceived statement. It was far too quick a decision to have been done for benign personal reasons.

Palin Notification Act

Alaskans for Parental Rights v the voice of Meg
Alaskans for Parental Rights "We look forward to Governor Palin honoring her commitment to attend"
Meg "this is the first we have ever heard of a speech."

Alaskans for Parental Rights eventually removed the post where they were holding out faith that she would show.

  1. As if Palin showing up to speak would help anyone's campaign. If I were a GOP candidate up for reelection this year, and got the message that Palin was on her way to "help!", I would put a 'for sale' sign on the lawn, turn the lights out, and hide in the closet.

Help like Sarah's, which always comes with a heaping helping of drama, the Republicans DON'T need! Why drill holes in your own boat?

  2. i love your blog! i admire your fearlessness! thank you.
